We tried that without success, see http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM/Akonadi#Akonadi_FAQ for the details. As it unfortunately turned out, running mysqld is the only working option at the moment. Can I help you with sqlite? And you may send your questions to sqlite-users mail list. Sure, help is always very welcome.
