Description John van Spaandonk 2009-03-06 17:30:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

OK, khtml is getting worse and worse in displaying webpages
For example, with kde 4.2.1 (*) , this site does nothing (white screen, stuck at 10% loading)

www.alex.nl

(worked almost perfect in 3.5.10)

So I decided to give the webkitkdepart a try.
I selected view-viewmode-webkit and tried the webpage:
same result as with konqueror --> disappointment.

I really believe that webkitkde is our salvation from the increasing khtml-hell, which is why I enter this bug report.

(*) option for kde version 4.2.1 was not available when I enteried this bug...

Forgot to mention that I am on kubuntu 4.5 jaunty here, using QT 4.5 release version.

The tries to redirect to https, but since :80 got added to URL, this port gets used instead of 443 (default for https).

[Comment from a bug triager]
Moving old kdewebkit bug reports to kdelibs/kdewebkit. Sorry about the noise
