Description Unknown 2009-02-01 10:46:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I change the Appearance Settings->Desktop Activity->Type to Folder View and then back to Desktop, the widget positions change automatically.

Even If we drag them to the original positions, they automatically arrange themselves in some order.

But if we logout and login again, the drag issue will go away.

Thanks a lot...

This one seems dup of bug #181501. Description is same as bug #183901 which is dup of bug #181501.

@Musthafa Meeran: can you check if this is the same as bug 181501. Also, is this still happening in KDE4.3.0 ? Thanks

I don't know if it's the same as bug 181501 but it still happens in KDE 4.3.0.

After changing from folderview desktop to plasma desktop the widgets resized and rerotated and after changing the desktop style back to folderview all widgets went to upper left corner into a stack. Just happend yesterday on my sidux with KDE 4.3.0.

I can confirm it

There are two issues, maybe related.

First: the widgets change their size.
To notice that you must have plasma widgets unlocked. Make sure your plasmoids are big. It doesn't work for the small ones. Add three plasmoids to your desktop and increase them to big size (my plasmoids are: notes, now playing and analog clock). Change desktop type to folderview. Click apply. Change to normal desktop. Click apply ;). The plasmoids changes their size. Now their size is the same as at the time they were added. Simetimes not all plasmoids change their size, but the ones wich size stay same often but not always change their size in future when they are refreshed.

The second: plasmoids go to the top left corner of desktop.
Add as at the first point three big plasmoids. Lock plasma. Change desktop type. From common desktop to folderview or from folderview to desktop. All plasmoids are moved to the corner and additionally often change their size.

When I was changing and changing the desktop type sometimes plasma even crashes, but it's another issue, I don't know how to reproduce the crash now.
