Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)

I recently noticed, that dolphin doesn't automatically select a file, when you hove over it long enough.
In the mouse systemsettings you can enable this option, and it seems like dolphin (and konqueror when used as file browser) don't "respect" this setting.
I don't know if this behaviour is intended, because of the little selection icons that appear, when you hove over a file, but I think it would be good, if dolphin "uses" KDEs settings.

thank you

This took me by surprise, too.
Icons should definitely be getting selected on hover.

Also, I note the setting *does* apply in places where it definitely should not, like in the list views of the Kickoff menu editor, which makes editing quite a challenge.

Considering single-click to launch is the default behaviour these days, these issues should get a higher priority.

I haven‘t even noticed that little option “automatically select icons” but dolphin doesn‘t give a damn about that checkbox.
