Description Ivan D Vasin 2009-01-07 23:10:34 UTC
Version:           4.1.87 (KDE 4.1.87 (KDE 4.2 >= 20090101)) (using 4.1.87 (KDE 4.1.87 (KDE 4.2 >= 20090101)), Gentoo)
Compiler:          i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-gentoo

i'm not sure how to give a more specific short description of this problem without being too specific. the problems i ran into are such:

on the site www.kitchencollection.com, i cannot get konqueror to handle the cookies properly. initially, konqueror's (default) cookie policy was to ask for confirmation. yet i was not asked for confirmation when i initially visited the site. after fiddling with the cookie policy, i set it back to ask for confirmation, and it started asking me the next time i visited the site. this is problem #1

problem #2 is that i cannot get kitchencollection.com to save any of my settings during a session. for example, after logging in, if i browse to another page, i am logged out when i reach it. also, if i add an item to my cart, then browse to another page, the item is removed. i cannot reproduce any of these symptoms in firefox. i have tried adding a site-specific policy to accept all cookies from kitchencollection.com. i have tried globally accepting all cookies. i have tried manually accepting each set of cookies with the global policy set to ask for confirmation. none of these fix the site's behavior in konqueror.

I believe that problem 1 might be the same as bug 187496.
Comment 2 A. Spehr 2009-03-21 19:56:53 UTC
Specific is always good, two bug reports here would have been better. Are you still having problems logging into that site?
Comment 3 Ivan D Vasin 2009-03-22 02:10:28 UTC
problem #2 is still present in konqueror-4.2.1
Comment 4 David Faure 2009-03-25 18:45:56 UTC
Both work with kdelibs trunk (future 4.3) and Qt-4.5.

I have indeed seen these symptoms with kdelibs-4.2 and Qt-4.4, but this is fixed now. Still not fully sure if that was the Qt-4.4 fromAce/toAce bug or a change in kio_http though.
