Hello!

Some programs such as Thunderbird while writing an e-mail or running Wine or a Wine-based program, generate more or less severe graphical corruptions. It seems to be not only the title decoration bar on the windows, but also the task bar and the plastimoïds that may have weird glitches. 

This bug occurs with and without Compiz 3D effects. 

This bug report has initially been reported to Mandriva's bugzilla : https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=44927 It contains all the initial details. 

To reproduce, the most easy to do s to run a Wine-based (or Windows) application. Some other programs in certain contitions do create this glitch as well, such as Thunderbird while you write an e-mail.

Looks like bug 157017. A few questions:
1) Does this also happen with openoffice.org writer in editing mode?
2) Are you using the nvidia binary drivers?

Yes, OpenOffice.org Writer creates the problem as well. It is less severe tan Thunderbird and Wine : 

- OpenOffice.org : Plastimoïds and taskbar have constant glitches and refreshing problems. 
- Thunderbird : Plastimoids, taskbar have constant glitches and refreshing problems. The title bar sometimes (quite often) becomes partly covered of black squares.
- Wine : The tile bar, the taskbar and the plastimoid have all very severe corruptions. 

I have observed that it seems to be when you type that the glitches are the most severe. When I stopped typing, the glitches were still there, but less severe (yet it looked like it was less intense). 

Concerning the nVidia drivers, I am using the nvidia proprietary drivers version 177.70 provided by Mandriva.
