Hi and thanks for your bugreport. Can you reproduce the crash? If so, could you have a look at http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports, try to install the debugging packages for your distribution and post a backtrace for the crash? I can reproduce the bug, even if doesn't happen each time. The bug happens when i add the file viewer plasma on the desktop, and then when i add a file (i tried with some regular pdf) from the menu preferences. Then the file viewer show a long string of codes (not the preview of file...), and sometimes crashes like a i said in the bug report. I tried to install the debugging packages for Kubuntu/Ubuntu kde 4.1.3 (kdelibs-dbg) but i can't find the -dbg package for plasma file viewer and the backtrace still doesnt appear... (sorry about my english) Where did you get the file viewer widget from? kde-look.org? Or did it come with or from your OS? Hi Aaron, the file viewer widget was already inside the OS, with some other widgets (like quick access, clock, menu K etc.) This is probably in regards to the file-watcher plasmoid, in which case this is probably a dupe of bug 168278. Jonathan: agreed. |
