I think this is because the KDockWidget was removed from KDE4, and despite promises of a replacement it didn't seem to arrive. That said, there should still be some way of changing the layout - for example, in Pan you can't dock the panels wherever you like, but you can choose the layout in the settings dialog. Personally, I'm only in a few groups, so having the list of groups take up the entire left side is a bit of a waste of space. There is QDockWidget. (I'm writing because one of our visitors at the CeBIT booth really needs this feature back.) Because it's a regression, I would like to change the severity from "wishlist" to "normal". Hello!
