Size & Orientation problem
This is a screenshot of the Size&Orientation section - I can see the scrollbars even if I maximize the window (1680x1050 screen resolution!)

Another pointless scrollbar - AudioCDs
Another pointless scrollbar - AudioCDs (version 4.1.2, just like previous screenshot)
About the first screenshot, it has already been reported on another bug report. About the second, I've changed the product to the right one. This bug is about a lot more things than just the Audio CD-component. Just about every component inside System Settings (including the main window) has unneeded scrollbars. I've tested ALL modules from trunk, the only one which shows unneeded scrollbar is the cd configuration dialog. Probably it has been fixed only in trunk and it has not been backported on 4.1.2. Sorry, even the audio cd-component is right. I've just checked the latest revision. Do you agree on closing this as fixed? OK, that's good to hear :) I'm running nightly snapshot as we speak, and I still see unneeded scrollbars. System settings itself has one, Window Behavior has one, regional & language has one... So it seems that this bug is NOT fixed in trunk. @Janne: Please, could you provide some screenshot? Thanks. Created attachment 28802 [details]
System Settings with a scrollbar
Yes, you could say that "of course there is a scrollbar since the icons do not fit the window". But that's just it. Why is the default-size of the window such that it can't display all the content? Especially when we condsider the fact that the problem could e fixed by making the default-size of the window bigger by a few pixels. Created attachment 28803 [details]
Another example
Only the following modules appear to be affected now: Desktop Effects Screen Saver Country/Region & Layout Mouse Audio CDs File Associations Hardware KDE Wallet Powerdevil Most of these problems appear to be down to their layouting, requiring widgets be far larger than they optimally should be. Alternately, they are trying to cram too much in. I filed a seperate bug for the Country/Region KCM issue. ( #192420 ) *** Bug 256722 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** All of these cases have been fixed now, except for Powerdevil, which is being tracked separately. |
