kdm.log
If your X crashed and the login screen is again visible, then Xorg.0.log is already for this new session, the correct X log is Xorg.0.log.old. Also your ~/.xsession-errors after the session might be useful. However, given that you are returned to the login screen, it is very likely this is X crash and not a KDE problem. OK, I have this two files. In ~/.xsession-errors I have kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: undefined symbol: PKCS7_content_free kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: undefined symbol: OpenSSL_add_all_algorithms kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: undefined symbol: OPENSSL_add_all_algorithms kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8: undefined symbol: OpenSSL_add_all_algorithms_conf X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3 Major opcode: 19 Minor opcode: 0 Resource id: 0x3a00059 Launched ok, pid = 7578 And in file /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/X [0x80f9bc0] 1: /usr/bin/X(FontFileCompleteXLFD+0xa1) [0x806b8a1] Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. As expected, X crashes, not a KDE bug. new xorg.conf helps. New config I get from Xorg -configure |
