I also experience this bug with input hotplug, but for mouse speed settings. And my mouse loose its settings quite often, because it is bluetooth and X11 uses HAL. Is this a bug valid even for KDE 3.5.10 or KDE 4? I think this is valid for KDE 4.x I'm also using a left-hand mouse setup. The set-up is done in "settings" But the mouse is connectet to a monitor usb-hub. When I switch off the monitor (and its hub) but leave the KDE session still open and later switch it on again I get a right-hand mouse setup. So I think, kded/solid should listen if an already configurered input device is unplugged and should reconfigure when its replugged again.
