Indeed, actually ark doesn't support .gz files. *** Bug 165047 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** It doesn't work with .bz2 too. Hello, I've hit this bug as well on kde4.1 rc1 (4.0.98). Neither remote org local gzipped files can be seen from ark, which unfortunately makes it almost useless. Please, let me know if I could be of any help with this.
