Katepart plugins are not saved with the session at this time. Kate plugins are. So the tabs plugins state should be in your session file, and thus loaded when you load the session. The word completion should load too, since that is global application configuration. Window geometry is saved if 'include window configuration' is enabled in the sessions configuration (which is the default). FWIW, it works fine here, using the development version of KDE 4 I have updated to 4.0.3 and now it works properly. I'm using KDE trunk and still see this. I leave kate with the terminal enabled open and restart kde. After the session was restored kate does not show any enabled plugins. I have this problem too. Please reopen! My kde version is: 1.0.99 (KDE 4.00.82 (KDE 4.0.82 >= 20080610), Gentoo) Reopen I have same problem with find in files plugin. I have to reenable it everytime I restart KDE. I am using KDE4.1, archlinux packages on x86_64. I'm still having this issue in kde KDE 4.1.0 (4.1 >= 20080722). Could anyone please confirm this officially? this happes also when I just logout of kde (with kate open) and then login and kate is restored (not properly this time) This partially happens. To reproduce: open a new session, enable all plugins, quit. Now, open a new session again. Most of the plugins are now disabled, but not all of them. However, this doesn't happen if the session is saved under a name. In that case, all plugins are restored properly. I am not really sure whether this is intentional or not, but I guess it's not... so, I'll set this to NEW. PS: I am using kate 3.1.0 (kde 4.1.0) from debian packages. *** Bug 171920 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** does it work if you choose "Session > Save as Default" after configurin your default? Yes, saving the session as default one fixed the problem. But I think it shouldn't be done (with kate from kde3 it wasn't needed) Still present in KDE 4.1.2. I agree, that the settings should be stored automatically on application exit. I would even go farther and say, that every open session should always automatically be saved on quit, thus eliminating the "Save Session" command totally. Always remember, that software should become more intuitive and simpler. Firefox is a great example. I'm using KDE 4.2 and I also have this issue. Save session works, the plugins are active on the next startup. But this is not very intuitive, if you save apply the settings they should "stick" between sessions. I explicitly saved the session as mentioned above, closed Kate, then launched it again and everything was fine. Then I logged off and shut down the computer. But when I started Kate next time, the plugins (actually tab bar was the only one I used) disappeared once again. It also did not save its own settings. However, the general editor layout (hidden tool views, etc.) was preserved. Could this be a bug in tab bar or it's Kate? Kate Version 3.2.63 Using KDE 4.2.63 (KDE 4.2.63 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090212)) "release 1.1" on openSUSE 11.1 *** Bug 190809 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 192839 *** |
