I open a ps file and scroll down for a while. At some random point okular crashes with this output to console:

This worked with several different ps files. With pdf files it seems everything is fine

Ubuntu <= 7.10 packages contain a bug that make okular crash after rendering some PS pages, nothing we can do for that
