Just confirming this bug. Using HTTP for MSN/Kopete worked a few months ago (although with frequent disconnections as mentioned in other bug reports), but stopped working after some changes at the MSN-servers. This was already fixed for Pidgin (so I'm now using Pidgin over port 80), but not yet for Kopete (which I prefer). It has been fixed also for amsn, in which case it was due to the last change in MSN protocol more than to a polling issue. Still present in kopete 4.0.84 from opensuse 11.0 repos. I'm behind a router if that makes any difference. This bug is old and not solved... It seems to be solved in amsn by revision 9005 and revision 9054. Please implement it Please cc debian bug 493820@bugs.debian.org Bug confirmed... but I found that in some hard to reproduce circumstances messages are delivered... I guess it is something related to the state of the contact, as every person I managed to speak to was "online" (but that doesnt mean that EVERY "online" person was reachable!) I've heard m$ have changed something in the http protocol sometime ago... My version of kopete is 3.5.10-1 compiled from source from debian unstable repos. We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete. |
