AFAIK, it the responsibility of the window manager to group the windows of one application together. Nothing we can do about it. Like Alex said. On top of that, e.g. kwin has alt+key_above_tab feature to switch between the same application windows by default. The same should be in gnome. I think that Alex and Martin are right. Additionally, at least using Kubuntu 17.04: > > allow user to short alt-tab switch back to search window.
