Version:           0.12.2 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler:          Target: i586-suse-linux
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.21-0.25-default

After connecting to the icq server, the contact list is empty. The groups are listed, but also empty.
The serverside contact list is filled. so there is a problem with kopete 0.12.2

Are you sure that you have contacts on server side list? Can you please try it with other client if it works there. I ask because I know that for instance licq doesn't store contacts on server side list.

Thanks for answering. 
Yes. There are contacts stored on the server. I tried the original ICQ, licq and sim. All of them showed me my stored contacts.

I allready uninstalled and installed it twice. I tried the rpm and tar-ball. Same problem.

Do you have Kopete with this bug 136566 fix, if you don't than this bug is caused by bug 136566.

I assume that this bug was caused by bug 136566, so I'm closing this bug report, if it wasn't please reopen.
