I forgot to say that it also happens when trying to display a different message in the already open folder, whether or not the message is new or old. kdepim should be build with ./configure --enable-debug=full in order to get full backtraces. I have rebuilt kdepim with --enable-debug=full and I have been trying to reproduce the problem since. The version hasn't changed, just rebuilt with debug. What I am now noticing is that IMAP actions in general are *extremely* slow, particularly when kmail is trying to do more than one thing at once, e.g. sending an email and opening a folder, or opening a folder and trying to display the first message in that folder, or changing folders during a mail check. Frequently now I am having to abort the action and restart it. I haven't seen any crashes though so I'm wondering if there is a race condition or something :( Haven't seen such a problem in KDE 4.2 and 4.3. |
