I am experiencing this bug on Akregator 1.2.6 in KDE 3.5.6 (Kubuntu Feisty). This bug still exists in KDE4.1 Tested using 4.2 r887704 compiled with gcc version 4.3.2 (Gentoo 4.3.2 p1.1). This hasn't been solved yet either. Hum *** Bug 185919 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This very old bug is still present in KDE 4.2 Stable. It's very annoying, because you cannot add Feeds from Firefox or other sources directly to akregator as long as you do not run akregator outside of kontact. SVN commit 1009391 by osterfeld: move cmdline handling to the part, so one can run "akregator <somefeedurl>" to add a feed to a running kontact akregator plugin instance. This bug has been open for quite a while and it would finally allow people to subscribe feeds from Firefox to Akregator. Backported to what? It's in the 4.3 branch (and will be forwardported to trunk/ later, of course; once the akonadi-ports branch is merged back). ah, sorry. This was not clear to me. For everyone interested in this matter I have requested Mozilla to add Akregator now to the list of possible newsreaders https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=509917 Frank, I just wanted to report on Launchpad that this bug has been fixed, then I found this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/300194 which could mean that it is still not possible to let Firefox add feeds to akregator. But may be I am wrong or if not, could you fix this also?
