Yes, it is a mess. Your or anybody else's patches are welcome. The GUI in the picture, although nicer, seems also more limited. I don't see e.g. any way to make 'Keyboard input' enter more than one keypress. *** Bug 69912 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** from bug #164534 move the keyboard shortcut to the first tab Currently it is a lot of wasted space -- one tab and in this one tab one widget. Not efficient, please bring it to the first tab, and when user chooses gesture instead of shortcut, disable this widget. Much simpler UI imho. *** Bug 164534 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** From bug #184940 It still isn't particularly obvious exactly how to go about creating a new global shortcut until you try it out - it would be better if there was a pre-created empty (and perhaps renamable) group entitled something like "User Defined". That way it would be far more obvious that you could first select that group, and then use the Edit button. The first time I attempted to create a shortcut using the new layout, I tried to decide which group to select for creating a new shortcut, but it wasn't too obvious (I thought that I'd have to pick one of the groups). I plumped for Preset Actions in the end, and then used Edit -> New - and much to my surprise a new group was automatically created. Better to have the first group for user definitions ready-made to avoid the user having to try to work out which group to select. *** Bug 184940 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** As announced in https://pointieststick.com/2023/07/26/what-we-plan-to-remove-in-plasma-6/ and https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Plasma_6#Removals, I'm afraid KHotKeys has reached end-of-life in Plasma 6. Accordingly, all bug reports and feature requests for it must be closed now. Most of what KHotKeys could do can already be done with the newer KGlobalAccel system in Plasma 6. A few features such as mouse gestures and triggering conditions based on changes to window states are not yet implemented in the new system. These will be added in the future if and when resources materialize for them, and/or when a kind soul submits patches to implement them! :) Meanwhile, the 3rd-party "Mouse Actions" app (https://github.com/jersou/mouse-actions) may be usable for implementing your own mouse gestures again. Thanks for your understanding, everyone. |
