Sometimes I like see more information instead nices screensavers without touch keyboard or mouse. This info not a CPU coolness or memory usage. I like the last RSS message, the last mail message.

Your mockup seems almost identical to Kontact's Summary view.  It would probably be trivial, or at least fairly easy, to implement a screensaver which launched Kontact in the root window, or simply brought the existing Kontact instance (if any) into focus.
