Description James Spencer 2005-12-15 16:18:17 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler:          g++ 4.0.2 Debian/Unstable
OS:                Linux

The dierectory chooser dialogue (not the save/open dialogue) will happily give you type ahead option for hidden directories (and their subdirectories), but won't update the graphical directory listing. IMHO this is a bug, as konqueror (and, if I'm not mistaken all other 'fileish' dialogues) will let you do this. Most apps will not let the user 'OK' (Kaffeine and kDirStat come to mind) a manually entered hidden directory. If this behaviour is deliberate, I stand corrected, but:
-This dialogue is hobbled by the fact that there is no configure button that allows you to view hidden directories, or to set detailed view as the save / open dialogue has.

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.

The problem does not happen in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
