Description Martin Steigerwald 2005-09-28 18:13:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

Hello, when I use KNotes on one running KDE session, start another KDE session on another session on another computer using the same home directory, add a note to KNotes in the second session, and then go back the first session the note added in the second one doesn't appear there.

What's worse the note gets lost as soon as KNotes on the first session saves its notes again into ~/.kde/share/apps/knotes/notes.ics!

There should at least be a warning or even better a proper management of mutiple running KNote instances as this can easily happen with FreeNX based application server and workstations with NFS home directories.

It might be wise to at least save each note to a different file and lock all notes that are opened on another session from editing. Everything else would need a complete concurrent editing framework.

This report is about a completely outdated version of knotes, please feel free to reopen the report if you can reproduce this with KDE 4.9.0 or later.
