It would be helpful if kopete would automatically search for offline users too when typing something in the search field.

This would save another two mouse clicks onto the show-all-users icon if you want to send a message to someone who is not online. 
I do this quite often both for offline ICQ contacts and for SMS contacts, which are always offline by design.

kopete could switch mode as long as the search field is not empty.
The problem with this is that a currently short list of online users might explode into a big result set after typing one single character, so this makes no good default behaviour maybe.

But how about searching offline users if there are no matching online users? This won't hurt anyone, so there is no need to make the feature configurable.
