Description Pawel Kowalak 2005-09-13 14:25:27 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.4.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.4.2-0ubuntu0hoary2 )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8ubuntu2)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-5-k7

Some nntp servers modify "From:" header. For example one server adds [nick] before your name. Then From header looks like:

From: [viru] Pawel Kowalak <email>.

The problem is, that Knode doesn't allow you to cancel/supersede your message, because From header from nntp server and From header from Knode are different.

In my opinion, checking if someone can cancel an article or not, is nntp servers' job. Knode should not check From headers and allow or deny canceling articles.
