I'd like to store some fixed/static items to my klipper's copy/paste list!

Especially passwords should be storeable. These items do not change and should not be get lost like normal klipper's items do.

So it would be nice, if a additional submenu item "fixed items" would appear. This submenu should display a list of fixed items titled by a customizable NAME (NOT the the VALUE itself, because I want to store passwords for cvs, svn, servers and so on...).

Well, when I click on any of these fixed items, the password itself (the VALUE) has to be copied to the clipboard. In this case, klipper may not add this item to its normal items list, because it saves the elements in plain text and everybody is able to read this..

The fixed items should not get lost, until I delete them explicitly.

I know, its not secure, but very handy :)
At the moment I save passwords in plain text in normal text files. Thats not handy and even more unsecure!
By the way, a user can also store other information instead of passwords, e.g. URLs, Usernames, Codetemplates (e.g. for documents or emails)... whatever!

A very cool feature that I miss in klipper!

The file where the items are stored, MUST ONLY be read- and writeable by the user itself! Noone else may get access on this file.

You mean that information should be stored in KWallet.

Please be aware that ANY program can retrieve the contents of the clipboard, so hiding the entry is no security at all.

Okay. But I always copy my passwords from a text file to the clipboard.
I cannot remember words like Js8d5msX9jzp2a11, Its too long for my brain ;-)
I know its not secure, but more secure than I do at the moment.

Well, its not just for passwords, maybe for URLs and Codetemplates! Whatever...

KWallet. I don't like it.

Yes, I'd like to have a possibility to store some entries permanently (i.e. URLs, email addresses etc.).

I imagine it could work like that:
* click on Klipper to show all stored items,
* right-click on the item you'd like to store permanently, and choose:
  - store this item for this session only,
  - store this item permanently.

I imagine something like this would be quite useful.
