I erroneously said "It is possible to get the end of the day later than the start of the day." when I ment to say "It is possible to get the end of the day before the start of the day." What is your configured time format (in the control panel)? pH:MM:SS? If so, that's the problem, since it means that 12 hour format *without* am/pm is used, so 07:30 is used for both 7:30 am and 7:30 pm... As this is not unique, it's impossible to correctly interpret any entered time, since korganizer can't know if am or pm is meant. You need to change the system-wide time format to either include the am/pm information or use 24 hour format. > I am new to KDE and for a year I have found it impossible to set an > appointment in the afternoon by normal means. Or do you mean the working hours? They don't have any influence on the time of new events, they are just used to mark the working hours in the view. > As it is, the KOrganizer allowed me to make a > configuration mistake and struggle with it for a long time. Yes, and it allows a work day end before the work day start, which is needed e.g. for overnight shifts. All that shouldn't affect korganizer, though. Cheers, Reinhold Reinhold, I changed the time format and it solved my problem. It is still a trap for the unwary and those with little knowledge of Linux time formats and how to change them, but I can see that it is not a problem caused by korganizer. I used the Mepis setup program and that is how the time format came to be set as it was. Even though the USA is not on the 24 hour clock system, I intend to use it on my computer from now on. Thanks.
