Description Tristan Miller 2005-05-05 01:02:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I started composing a new message. While doing so, I had to refer to literally dozens of other messages, so I did a lot of navigating through folders, quicksearches, and even moving some messages between folders while the composer window was still open. After about half an hour of this, I finished my message and hit the send button. KMail promptly crashed with the following backtrace:

Comment 2 Tristan Miller 2005-06-10 17:22:03 UTC
Another crash today, this time with KMail 1.8.1. Backtrace looks pretty much the same as the last two.
Comment 3 Malte S. Stretz 2005-06-20 10:43:27 UTC
*** Bug 107771 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 4 Malte S. Stretz 2005-06-20 10:44:59 UTC
From bug 107771:
 * This happened just after I entered my KWallet password.
 * Is it possible that this is a race condition between autoSaveMessage and the sending?
Comment 5 Pavel Kraus 2005-11-14 16:58:22 UTC
The same happens consistently to me with 1.8.2 in KDE 3.4.2, slackware, kernels 2.4.26 and 2.6.13. I try to send mail and kmail crashes with the mail staying in outbox. When trying to send it from outbox, kmail crashes again. Mail is sent by passing it to localhost:25.

Comment 6 Pavel Kraus 2005-11-15 19:27:38 UTC
Update. When I changed kmail settings to send outgoing mail through sendmail (postfix in my case), problem disappeared.

Comment 8 David Jarvie 2005-11-25 13:07:37 UTC
I have always had my outgoing mail delivered by sendmail (postfix), yet the crash happened to me (see bug 117039).
Comment 9 Tristan Miller 2005-11-25 14:01:00 UTC
Ditto -- my mail's always been delivered by a local postfix installation, and the crash still happens to me.
