Version:           3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)

In Mandriva 2005's compilation of KDE 3.4 if you try to update the association for some file type through `kcmshell filetypes` and click OK, it will present the "Updating system configuration" progress bar. However when it completes it simply starts back at the beginning (of the progress bar) again.

I had this today with associating azureus to application/x-bittorent with KDE 3.4.2 on PCLinuxOS in konqueror file association preference panel

Is this still an issue in KDE 3.5.x?

No feedback and was not able to reproduce anymore in KDE 3.5.6.

Just started happening to me in KDE4.2 in Kubuntu. I've noticed it in file associations and menu editor, but I haven't looked so it's probably somewhere else. Can ysomeone please reopen?
