Description Tristan Miller 2005-04-23 20:58:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Reproducibility: Always

Steps to reproduce:

1. Begin composing new message
2. Start typing recipient name

Observed behaviour:

3. For most recipients, KMail displays duplicate entries, one of the form "My Realname <myemail@address.com>" and one of the form "myemail@address.com (My Realname)". See attachment.

Expected behaviour:

3. Only one of the duplicate entries should be displayed (IMHO "My Realname <myemail@address.com>"; I think this is fairly standard.)

I first encountered this bug in KDE 3.4. I don't recall the problem in KDE 3.4 beta or earlier.

Comment 2 David Faure 2005-04-24 03:00:10 UTC
For information, this is done in order to allow completion based on email-addresses in addition to names.
(but maybe we could do this differently...)

The list shows a mix of address book entries and recently used addresses. It could be that the person in question appears in both lists.
