Description Christian Nitschkowski 2005-02-28 23:19:21 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

On KDE 3.4 RC1 Knotify doesn't play any sounds.
Arts is able to play sound.
Tested using artsplay on console and using apps like Amarok or Kaboodle.
They work fine, but KNotify doesn't play any sound.
I configured KNotify to use an external player, that didn't help.

Same problem here with rc2 :(
Comment 2 Thiago Macieira 2005-03-01 02:54:28 UTC
Considering we haven't released an RC2 yet, I trust you meant Beta 2.
Comment 3 Stephan Binner 2005-03-01 12:05:28 UTC
You should complain about arts rpm to SUSE it seems.

I think, the first time this issue occured was in November 2004, with the unofficial SuSE rpms of KDE. There are also two other errors caused by these packages: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97482 and a compile error caused by the devel-rpm that affects e.g compiling k3b or basket.
So please, unless you don't want to have the bug in KDE 3.4, write to SuSE!
