Version: 1.0beta10 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: gcc 3.3.4 OS: Linux feed are not updated when "Use cache if possible" is set in konqueror whatever is the state of the checkbox in pref/network "use cache browser" of akregator should update the feeds even if "use cache if possible " in konqueror is set and checkbox unchecked in akregator "use browser cache"
I confirm this. In akregator settings the label says (less network traffic) so you check it because less traffic is good. Nevertheless the consequences are not perceptible. In the combination refered above ("use cache if possible" in konq and "use browser cache" in akr) akregator can be 1 week without showing new feeds or more if your cache size is larger. That is assumed to be a bug and probably is if this behaviour wasn't expected. My wish list by order of preferece: 1) If you choose "use browser cache" it will always use it in the "keep cache in sync" mode. 2) A tooltip and what's this message explaining the consequences of having the browser cache in "offline browsing" or "use cache whenever possible".

Could this be KIO bug?
i can confirm this behaviour in the latest akregator svn.
it is still there on akregator 1.1.3 on kde 3.4.3
For me this looks like KIO bug, as librss uses KIO's method to get data. Reassigning.
Me confirming too. Sometimes the feeds dont update for a couple of days, with this configuration setting. Also, it is not clear whether "use browser cache" applies to the feed itself, or to embedded contents withing the individual articles. I would want the browser cache to be active for the photos from my Flickr feeds, while the feed itself should not be cached.
Well folks its 3.5.1 and this is still there. Any clues?

Fixed in akregator long ago
