Description Nigel Gerdes 2005-02-19 02:02:10 UTC
Version: 1.0 beta10 (using KDE 3.3.2, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 (Mandrakelinux 10.2 3.4.3-3mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-1mdk

Akregrator beta 10 (after second issue to FTP sites) does not result in an red RSS icon bottom right of Konqueror when Konqueror on an RSS enabled page. Tested with 'slashdot' and others sites - worked OK with Akregrator beta 8 (rpm install from cooker) previously. No other changes to system which is Mandrake 10.2 Beta 1 updated to 18 Feb 2005 with cooker but running kernel 2.6.10-1 not 2.6.10-2. (built using only rpms and only akregrator beta 10 compiled with no errors or warnings ).

Hmm, the konq plugin is definitely compiled here, so we don't have the same problem we had with the kontact plugin ;-)

It would be useful if you could check some things to track it down:

- run "ls -l YOURPREFIX/lib/kde3/libakregator*" and check if the files have the same date. libakregatorkonqfeedicon.*.

- Check if the ./configure output contains

"checking konq_popupmenu.h usability... yes
checking konq_popupmenu.h presence... yes
checking for konq_popupmenu.h... yes"

- Check if akregator-1.0_beta10/akregator/src/konq-plugin contains .lo files and libakregatorkonqfeedicon.la after compilation.

As this is most likely a problem with the KDE setup, and 1.0 beta10 is obsolete, I close this report. Reopen if the problem still occurs with current versions.
