Description Martin Pfeiffer 2005-02-17 21:36:16 UTC
Version: 0.9.92 (using KDE KDE 3.3.92)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hi,
I installed the KDE Beta2 within kopete and it worked very well. So after starting kopete today I received two autorization messages from the same person. After granting/ declining (I tried both) or closing the to dialogues kopete crashed every time. This was very bad, because I couldn't use kopete any more.
The contact who asked for autorization was in my contactlist, but hadn't already autorized me. So I had to use the windows ICQ-client to grant the autorization and after that kopete worked again.

we need a backtrace in order to troubleshoot this crash. Can you please provide one?

I get 2 auth requests from the same person, as the original reporter stated, and after dismissing the second dialog windows Kopete crashes "reliably". It doesn't matter if I dismiss the dialogs with "ok" or "cancel".

Greetings,

  Gunter

Hi!

Sorry, additional note: I'm using the preliminary "KDE 3.4 final" debs from the Debian KDE developer team. (These debs are not yet in Debian unstable due to the imminent release of Sarge.)

Greetings,

  Gunter

Hi!

The main problem is: These auth request now always appear as soon as Kopete logs in to the ICQ network (2 or 3 auth dialog windows) and thus always crashes after I close the second dialog. (The crash always happens after closing the second dialog, even if 3 of the are displayed.) That means, I now cannot use ICQ as the dialogs block kopete and closing them crahses Kopete... Uhm... ;)
Will try to revert to LICQ in the meantime until you have a patch for me which I will happily test... ;)

Greetings,

  Gunter Ohrner
