Description Richard Pemberton 2005-02-06 12:59:25 UTC
Version: 1.4 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

It would be really nice if the klaptop battery icon would change to indicate remaining charge - even a hack like different icons for 75%+,50%+ & 25%+ would be better than the empty looking icon we have at the moment :)

it should be doing this for you - can you check to make sure that ACPI's working for you (need's to be enabled in your kernel)
Comment 2 Richard Pemberton 2005-03-21 18:31:16 UTC
ACPI is in my kernel, following from /proc (running from mains)

The percentage remaining is visable on the icons tooltip, but the icon is of an empty battery.

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present: yes
capacity state: ok
charging state: discharging
present rate: 0 mA
remaining capacity: 2816 mAh
present voltage: 9153 mV

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
present: yes
design capacity: 2816 mAh
last full capacity: 2816 mAh
battery technology: rechargeable
design voltage: 10800 mV
design capacity warning: 281 mAh
design capacity low: 28 mAh
capacity granularity 1: 253 mAh
capacity granularity 2: 2535 mAh

Comment 3 Dario Andres 2010-02-26 14:07:37 UTC
I have personally contacted the KLaptopDaemon author/assigned and he confirmed that the tool is deprecated in KDE SC 4 (replaced by PowerDevil) and that there are no current efforts to support/maintain the KDE SC 3 version.
Because of this, I will close the reports as UNMAINTAINED.
