Version: 3.3.91 (using KDE 3.3.91 (beta1), compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.104-default I noticed the new feature that in the sidebar archives are displayed like folders and can be opened. I like this idea but I would prefere to have it configurable since in some of my folders are a lot of archives and then the tree is rather long. Or at least have the archives behind the folders and not mixed. Jens

I think this rather should be put under annoying/hated bugs, wishlist rather sounds like a feature to be implemented.

Added an hidden option, add "ShowArchivesAsFolders=false" to start of konqsidebartng.rc
Isn't a "hidden option" a bug, by KDE standards? This should be added as a GUI option, not as a text file option.

While I am happy that I can disable this, I am still not happy that this is so much hidden. I just checked the default konqsidebartng.rc and I could not find any entry named ShowArchivesAsFolders. If we are not able to make a GUI option right know then I would suggest to add this option at least to the default config file so that people have at least a minimal chance to find it. Of course it must be ShowArchivesAsFolders=true then ;-)
Ok, so this "bug" has received four dupes over 11 months of waiting time, but all we get is a "hidden option" in an rc file? :) Please, this is a significant annoyance that was added to KDE without warning or good reason. (Almost sounds like something that would happen in Windows, ugh.) Please either disable it by default, or add a GUI option. There is *plenty* of room in Konq->Configure Konq->Appearance for such a setting.
Can't find that entry in konqsidebartng.rc
You have to add it yourself. Put it at the top, outside of any sections.
Ok, this is a useful information, as the tweak applet stores this setting in the created section "General", which has no effect.
