Description _ 2005-01-28 00:01:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.91)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.4.3
OS: Linux

Currently fsview is not able to show correct usage for directories accessed via the kde 3.4 media kioslave - instead it displays one big 0B block.
Comment 1 Josef Weidendorfer 2005-01-28 01:47:24 UTC
Yes, it is only for local files currently.
Changing this to be able to handle KIO-Slaves needs more work.
For sure not for KDE 3.4. But I keep the bug open (changed to wishlist).

media:/ also contains harddisks...
Comment 3 Marco Gusy 2005-12-15 14:32:41 UTC
It's a pity. It would be very useful for usb pen / mp3 players....

3.5.3-SVN, still in there. just stepped on it. needed to replace media:/sdc6/ with /media/sdc6/, not that bad but broken.

It is still here in KDE 4.5.5, konq-plugins-4.4.0, 6 years later!
There is no workaround for sftp:// or fish:// and this is a pity,
because other operating system do not have such a file size view,
so doing it across the net from Linux is an *important* use case.
Comment 6 Roberto Ragusa 2017-02-13 10:28:14 UTC
Still no progress on that front.
Running konqueror as root is certainly a bad idea, but the elegant workaround fish://root@locahost/ does not work.
