Description jos poortvliet 2005-01-17 19:45:56 UTC
Version: onbekend (using KDE 3.3.1, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-3)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-ck4.2

I don't really know if its possible, but I guess it is. would be useful for me, because I can then just save a bunch of tabs as a kind'a workspace... and its easy to have a lot documents opened, while still being able to organise them.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion.

It was decided against readwrite editing in Konqueror for many reasons (imagine the
mess with the toolbars, the problems with back/forward and unsaved changes,
the inconsistency between editing an existing file and creating a new file, etc.).
Not everything can be done from konqueror :-)

I think the solution to your wish is adding a tabbar to koshell ("KOffice Workspace")
to be able to edit documents with tabs to switch between them. I'm almost sure this
is already covered by another wishlist so I'm closing this one.
This would also require a kind of "multitab bookmark or history" in koshell, though.

David.

thanx for the quick reply... so much for not enough people working on Koffice ;-)

but seriously, well, you might be right... I was only thinking about what would be possible: drag'n'drop from one tab to another of files or weblinks, or directly dropping pictures from a website, opened in split-view... but indeed, quite some problems would arise. well, maybe better the koffice workspace-way...
