Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc-3.4.3 OS: Linux A while ago, there were amarok versions that handled albums containing pieces of different artists in a decent way, i.e. there was a "Various Artists" entry in the collection, containing all these albums. I really liked this feature, since I have a lot of soundtracks and samplers which would show up under "Various Artists". However, in recent versions this feature seems to be gone (I noticed it first today after installing 1.2-beta3, but I haven't checked in a while, so this could have been present for a while already). I also switched to MySQL today, so maybe it's related to this. I'd really like to have this feature back (maybe make it a toggle?). In addition to these albums showing up under "Various Artists", the songs themselves should of course show up under their respective artist as well. Thanks!
works fine here with cvs. seems fixed. feel free to reopen, though ;-) regards, muesli
At first I also thought it was gone, but then I found "Various Artists" at the end of the list.

Yes, it's back there. I am pretty sure though that at the time I posted this bug the feature was completely gone. Either that or I was really blind. Plus, I can remember having a lot of one-piece entries for all the artists on top of the list... so maybe I just picked a bad time to update CVS ;) Anyway, it's fixed now. I'd like to have it on top of the list again, though, together with "Unknown", for consistency. Thanks!
We should either list unknown under U, or separate them somehow. I always have found it strange that they weren't listed alphabetically with the rest. But this is simply because there is no separation between them and the other categories. We could add separation with a blank qlistviewitem or something else. And then stick them at the bottom, putting them at the top suggests they are somehow more important than the rest, which is never true for me at least. Usually I never venture inside those ones.
