Description tor 2005-01-11 22:00:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

When using the Xorg COMPOSITE extension with shadows enabled (xcompmgr -c) the new (and wonderful) icon popup animation "freezes". This only happens at the first icon i hover with the pointer. If I hover the icon next to the first, it works. If I remove the pointer from the icons the same it freezes again for the first.

the question is whether this is a bug in xcomposite or what kicker is doing. it seems that xcomposite is making some assumptions that don't really hold?
Comment 3 tor 2005-01-11 22:18:36 UTC
Yep. I don't know the details of xcomposite, but it seems like it makes the shadow on the first animation, and that causes the animation to stop. I don't know whose fault it is.

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97330#c1 suggests at least with our kompmgr it works, but probably not for the stock one. At any rate, this sounds like a CM bug.
Comment 5 Aaron J. Seigo 2005-02-05 12:10:33 UTC
yes, i can confirm that Maksim... am closing this now as invalid since it's not really a kicker bug and not even a kde bug at all =)
