Description Matthew Truch 2005-01-11 05:49:39 UTC
Version: 1.1.0_dr1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
OS: Linux

It would be nice if kst allowed a listing of vector names that are to be, by default, interpreted as time (instead of the all or nothing default currently available). When setting the x-axis time interpretation default in the kst settings dialog, one should be able to set a (comma separated, wildcard capable) list of vectors that are to be time interpreted. That way my cpu_time and time etc. datasource fields can be interperted as time by default, but not others (which are not a time).

The problem with this suggestion is that the x-axis settings are associated with a plot, and not a vector. What would happen if a plot held two vectors - one that satisified the criteria and one that did not?

This feature was added to allow the user to specify whether they were working primarily with times or raw values on the x-axis. Attempting to automate this would seem to add greatly to the complexity while giving little in return.

If there are no arguments with my previous comment I would suggest we withdraw this bug.

With the new (bug 96862) multi-plot editing ability, this bug is a non-issue. Withdrawing....
