Description simoneous davey 2005-01-02 23:59:20 UTC
Version: 1.3.2 (using KDE 3.2.3, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 (Mandrakelinux 10.1 3.4.1-4mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1-12mdk

For days I've been unable to log on as root in the konsole command line. I enter 'su' press enter and the password: line comes up. However, no text is accepted so am unable to enter my password. I try to reopen the Konsole again and again, but there is no change. Without root privileges I am effectively shut out of the linux install features!!

What is the output exactly? Does it work under xterm? How about Virtual Console (Ctrl+Alt+F1)?
Sounds like a system problem unrelated to KDE/Konsole.

System problem I would say.
