Description J 2004-12-19 18:59:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

kmplayer seems to have some problem playing the videos provided on www.tagesschau.de. For every video you can choose to play realmedia or windows media format in the embedded player or with a extra player windows. I configured konqueror to play realmedia/windowsmedia with kmplayer. It works when using the external player. However using the embedded solution shows different results. With windows media, the player windows shows up in konqueror, but it doesn't play anything. With real media, konqueror crashes completely.

For both real as wmp work, so it might be fixed in the development version. What's kmplayer version? And can you append the complete backtrace of the crash?

i'm using that latest "KMPlayer: 0.8.4-rc4b" (not the cvs version). But i just checked the real link with kaffeine as embedded player. Konqueror also crashes and it seems that it has nothing to do with kmplayer. So i should post this a konqueror bug?

How could i trace the problem with the wmp link. konqueror doesn't crash but only shows the player window and nothing more happens.

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

Comment 3 Koos Vriezen 2004-12-21 18:07:08 UTC
Looks like a khtml bug indeed. However, just tried it with the 3.3 branch, it doesn't crash for me.
I tried 'Sendungen' | 'Live streams' both modem/isdn and breitband. It simply works and it plays real, has two plugins, one for the video and one for the button bar. (I though I could choose wmp or real the previous time I checked).

Anyway, you might tell us what exactly you to let it crash (ie. which links to click)
