Version: 3.3.90 (using KDE 3.3.90 (alpha1, CVS >= 20041206), Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-gentoo ...because it is, still. IMHO behaviour should be as winblows/follows: if something is selected -shift button should select all items between the first and the last selected item -ctrl button should add/remove (toggle) files to/from selection Over all, file selection should make sense to Joe in all cases. This is most probably a dupe report but it's 3.4 Alpha and selection still sux - I cannot even quite figure out which rules of behaviour apply to it. And it really, really is not only confusing but annoying that explorer.exe does this better then Konqui-baby. Common guys, this got to be an easy one. rgrds
Do you really think that saying something "sucks, c'mon, it's easy to fix" will really get you anywhere? The rules are as follows (I've just tested): - Shift button selects all items from the currently selected to the one you click on - Ctrl adds/removes items from selection isn't that what you wanted? Please point out what exactly you tried and what exactly happened and what should have happened. Some examples would help.
nope, you're right, shouldn't be joking around with konqueror bugs, sorry. I was just annoyed not being able to delete some items in tree view because _I have automatic selection enabled_, and the behaviour when pressing ctrl and hovering over a file resets the selection. If you quickly click on files it is possible though. So sorry, correct report shall be: when 'Automatically select icons' is activated and CTRL held down, hovering over files sets the selection to only the current item, but should imho work like clicking, i.e. toggle select status of current item.
Ok, now I see what you mean.

Many thanks.
