Draw automessages in the sequence diagrams is not possible.

It is better called self-message. I'm not sure if it is in the standard UML but RRose supports it, and i've been using it in my designs. Find attached a picture of it.

Umbrello does support this. Select the "f(x)" synchronous or
asynchronous message drawing tool, left-click on a sequence
line, and left-click again on the same line.
