Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Debian stable Packages OS: Linux Better usability in Konqueror is a must in order to attract Windows users. I suggest making the Tree-view *default* in Konqueror, since the majority of Windows users find this arrangement to be the most versatile way to browse files. Microsoft has had Tree-view since the days of File Manager in Windows 3.1 screenshot: http://www.saunalahti.fi/wpoet/scr/scr-nt31.gif and they have stuck with it - presumably because they received positive feedback from their customers and from usability tests - in all their later versions of Explorer. screenshot: http://www.sapdesignguild.org/community/images/explorer_tree.gif I'd also like to suggest aiming for a logically-organized, clutter-free tree similar to the Xandros File Manager (XFM) screenshot: http://www.xandros.com/images/screenshots/v3/desktop_original.png This might require enlarging the left-hand frame (where the tree is) and making the fonts/icons smaller in order to make space for file details in the right-hand frame.
This already the case. Withdrawing wishlist.
