Description Mathias Homann 2004-12-09 23:59:22 UTC
Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE 3.3.2 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.111.5-default

when i use disconnected imap, mails that i have just read appear as unread again after the next sync, and this happens over and over.

Does this pertain only to the folder you are currently in? Do you use client side filtering? Do you use interval mail checking?

Coolo, that's the one you are seeing as well, right?

happens to all folders, no matter which one i've opened. also, happens even if i'm in kontacts summary view instead of its kmail view.
I do use client-side filtering, but no filters apply to incoming mail, all filters i have are manual filters. yes, mail is checked every 5 minutes.

Thanks. Some more data points. Which server do you use? Does it have UIDPLUS
capabilities? Can you try if not filtering between syncs helps?

cyrus imapd 2.0.16, no idea if it has UIDPLUS... what is that?
and i havent filtered manually between two syncs.
besides, the filter itself i have in kmail does not move mails around. it just pipes them thru a script.

It's an extension which tells uploading clients about the uid an uploaded
message gets. That enables the client to skip downloading it again. Most
modern servers support it.

Ok. I will try to reproduce this. Thanks for the info.

I don't think I see this very problem.
Comment 7 Michael Leupold 2008-09-14 16:23:58 UTC
Does the bug reported happen for every mail every time? We've been talking about this for a while and I think I might have seen something similar but I'm not quite sure. Does this still happen for you? If so, does it happen every time or do you maybe have a way of reproducing this bug?

May be, only may be, this bug is related to bug 112724 ?

I have the same issue in KMail 4.12.3 and it seems, that this issue still exists. I have a large number of mails, which I can't mark as read. Everytime I re-sync my inbox, this mails are unread again. On the server side, all mails are already marked as read, but in kmail... unread again.

Environment:
Arch Linux - KDE Platform Version 4.12.3
Microsoft Exchange 2010 over Davmail (EWS)

Any idea, how I can fix this issue?

What you see could be bug 278737.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
