Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs

OS: Linux

Hi,

it would be nice to have possibility attach signature at cursor possition. If I select Attach->Append Signature it is appended at the end of e-mail which is not allways the best.

Thank you.

same here :)
currently i have to copy-paste my signature all the time :(
it would be really nice to have an option for specifying the area (below/above or smth) where to put signature.

Actually, I used before Sylpheed-claws and it has a configuration setting that allows you to configure the "replied" and "forwarded" message. So in there is a field that you can specify for the "signature".

The issue is that if the signature is added at the end of a long message while replying, well, they are not going to see it unless they scroll all the way down.

This is how sylpheed-claws do it (just so you have an idea) The user has an entry field where they can define it like this:

%signature
On %messagedate %sender wrote:
>%body

So you see, you can either chose to put the signature just above the replied message or below or whetever one feels like it.
Having it at the end of the message is only practical in new and very short "reply" messages. It is not practical in big long messages.

The same goes for me: I'd like to be able to decide whetner the signature goes.
If I have an "Add signature automatically" it would be great to be bale to decide where put the signature and where the cursor:
1. signature at top, cursor on top
2. signature at bottom and cursor on top
3. signature at bottom and cursor just above it
Option #2 is the only one available now.
Attach signature menu item, then, shout have an implici "at cursor position".

I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 16480.
This function is already present in the enterprise branch, and bug 16480 contains a work-in-progress patch for trunk.
