Description Timo Veith 2004-11-20 14:37:47 UTC
Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.3.4-r1
OS: Linux

I am using imap. When advancing from one message to the next unread and the next "look for new mail interval" is due, I have to wait until it finishes. Even then I have to klick on some other message and again on the previous one to see the message text.

I think checking for new mail should be completly backgrounded and not disturbing the user while he reads his mail. Of course one can set the interval time higher, but that's no real solution.

Are you still experiencing this problem with recent versions of KMail? Bug 41514 is quite similar to this one - but its reporter mentions using filtering/spamassassin.

I cannot confirm that this bug exists any longer.
