Version: 1.7 (using KDE 3.3.1, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-2) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1 As seen on the attached screen shots, the highlight around the focused "To:" widget in the new (3.3.1) version of the Plastik is white, even though by global system settings it should be blue, which it is for the other fields.

Weird of what? It's the same image. This bug is not valid.
Sorry for being unclear. Pay attention to the frames surrounding the "To:" (German: "An:") line in the second shot. It's white, in contrast to pretty much any other Qt-controlled text input widget. For example, the "CC:" field's frame in the first shot is blue, as it should be. A small annoyance, but it looks a bit shoddy.
But I use KMail from always and this kind of thing never happened I use qt from CVS, kde from 3_3_BRANCH. I this you installation is buggy. What qt version have you got? Updtae to kde 3_3_BRANCH kde and try again.
I think it's plastik style feature not a bug.
Oh, that one -- seen that for ages, never bothered to report it. The CC field will show the same behaviour as soon as you type something in the field. Might be Plastik related but KMail is the only App I've seen this happening with (eg. the similar drop-down boxes in KNode doesn't behave like that).
Just checked with kmail from kde4.1+ svn trunk (r860647) and plastik style. Seems to fixed.
works for me also in trunk.
